The New Here, Start Here Expo in St. Thomas
In March 2025, I hosted the first New Here, Start Here Expo at 750 Talbot Street in St. Thomas. It was a free evening designed to help people connect with trusted local services in St. Thomas and Elgin County, and 77 people showed up to do exactly that.
Whether you had just unpacked your last box or you had been here for years, the night was built for you. A curated group of local experts and service providers all in one room, ready to answer the questions you've been sitting on and help you find those trusted local pros that even long-term residents don't always know about. Realtors, lawyers, tradespeople, financial advisors, and community builders, no awkward searching required.
Everyone who attended had a chance to win a $100 grocery gift card, but honestly, the connections people walked away with were worth a lot more than that. People are already asking when the next one is. I'm working on it.
